Burns, if you find the casting date codes from the block and transmission housing, post them or e-mail them to me and we'll help you put a date on them.
Follow Phil Auten's description for finding the casting date codes. There should be another number also, in raised letters and numbers that ends in an R1 or R2, that is a part number.
