David - A couple things I've found that work: 1 - Warm the screw using a very lazy torch flame. But do it GENTLY - you don't want to begin softening the pot metal casting! 2 - Set the carb casting on something solid, then use a small drift and a hammer to give the screw head a few light hits. Sometimes that will break the threads free. I've heard that a bit of dry ice applied to the screw head for a minute or so also works (the extreme cold shrinks the screw threads a bit) but I've never tried it.
