Farmall A exhaust-lift cylinder problem

Hi; Just in the last week my lift system has been dropping quickly in the neutral setting (20 seconds and the cultivators are back on the ground).I suspect the seal in the cylinder because the control valve has a new seal.Has anybody taken one of these units apart? Can the seal be removed from the top of the cylinder with the cable system attached? Are these seals still available ? I have kept the cylinder oiled; That oil-hole now has a distinct whistle escaping out of it whenever the system is in the lift mode. Thanks for your input.
