Don't give up on the woods mower. They're a great mower for a finish mower.I've had one on a super C for years. The only belt trouble I ever had was when the rear belt shield got bent and rubbed on the belt ruining it. The belt thats on it now is at least 6 years old and mows over an acre most weeks during mowing season. Be sure the belt is wound around the pulleys right and that the rear adjustment pulleys are adjusted to make the belt run as straight as possible from the rear forward. Also the belt has to run very tight. It would probably be helpful to get a book on it. The only drawback I see is they are not really very good mowing anything very tall. If you need something for tall weeds you will do better with a rear mount brush hog type mower but the woods can't be beat for yard type mowing.Hopes this helps.
