From my experience in the past with automotive and tractor float levels, you usually end up with the top of the float parallel to the mounting flange. This is a quick and dirty way of getting the level set correctly. It has worked every time for me without ever a problem. I think getting the level down to the 32nd is overkill when a tractor is bouncing all over when discing across the furrows on the end of the field....

Just my $0.02 worth. Set it how you feel comfortable.
