I guess you can add me to the "keep it" camp. Assuming it was a good job and they didn't hack anything to do it I'd probably keep 'er. Add electronic ignition which is way cheaper on a 12v system and be happy. However if it really bugs you, then by all means go back to 6v. My Super M is 6v and I'd never convert it. If I bought another 6v I'd probably never convert that either, but if I bought a 12v and it was a good job I'd probably never convert that either.
