Paul - The idea for the test I suggested is to find any/all water leaks before buttoning the motor up. It'll also turn up external head gasket leaks, pump seal leaks, etc. when it's most convenient to deal with them. Other's comments about risks of overpressurizing are valid! A really safe way to do it is to use a track pump (bicycle hand pump with a gage built into the base) to pressurize the system. This will let you slowly and accurately bring up the pressure. ...Bob
