Sounds like your tractor might be out of time a small amount....My M had the same problem. I retimed the tractor, to check the tractor, use the hand crank and very slowly turn the motor over until you hear the impulse coupler snap. The pointer on the block should line up with the single notch on the crankshaft pulley...See if it works, you might need to re-time your tractor. Good luck,
