I had the same problem with my H that had been sitting unused for several years. I believe that rainwater came in through a poorly fitted exhaust pipe and a cracked manifold,and then down through the head.I tore mine down and the head gasket looked fine and the head wasn't cracked,so I'm guessing that it came in this way.
