Skip, you are on the right track. What Pat is experiencing is called "powerhop" & is a serious problem on today's MFD tractors. What is happening is that the front end alternately graps/slips creating a bucking/jerking situation. Generally what happens is that the front end is being asked to do too much of the work. All the front end weight is not helping the situation. Try to shift more weight from the front to the rear of the tractor. This can be accomplished by removing some of the front weight,adding rear weight, usually airing up the front tires while removing air from the rear tires all can help. It would be nice to find out what the lead/lag ratio of this setup is. The front end is usually geared to run 2/5% faster than the rear end, if it is more than this, powerhop can occur.
