706 generator troubles...

my generator wasnt charging so i took her apart n cleaned it up. it charged good then. now if u pull a lead off the battery it dies and when you shut the tractor down the amp light stays on. also when you move the wires on the generator you can see sparks but when there on tight you can see any. i have never ran into this problem before. thanks for the much needed help,
