C white demonstrator

Our C has the red paint peeling off of it and i noticed under it is a coat of white paint. THe white paint is everywhere, on the hood, gearshift lever, seat, axle housings, battery box. My grandpap told me that it was painted all white at one time when they bought it, it was then painted red. He never filled me in on the details though and i just want to find out for sure if this is the real thing or a fake. Serial number is 47600, which says its a 1950 model i think. Any info is appreciated.
