Jared - If memory serves (it's been a couple years now...) the crank gear timing mark was a double punch on a crank gear tooth. I don't recall seeing any another mark on mine.

Easy way to verify would be to remove the #1 spark plug, then have an assistant turn the crank while you peer in the #1 plug hole. Stop turning the crank when see the piston crown reach TDC. The crank gear timing mark will be the mark at the mesh point with the cam gear.
