I pick with a 400 and a New Idea picker, like the other guy's it is two row with both a husking and shelling bed - we only use the husking one though, the shelling one is rusted up. I would recommend the 400 for picking - it will handle the picker with finesse. The picker will run the engine hard even in first gear. I go in first with the TA in high. Having the TA will make things easier for you, and the IPTO is WORLDS better for picking than a transmission driven one, you can put the clutch in and keep the picker going if you get in a heavy spot, or need to empty it out. We have real bad hills too, and boy that power steering is nice. It would make for real long days if you didn't have it. And the 400 hydraulics will handle the picker with no problem. Pickers are a real experience to run, nice and loud too with all those chains. Have fun!
