i use a super mta with a new idea 322 and it works swell we pick enough corn to fill the cribs for cattle feed then shell the rest, thats a lot quicker and easier. the 400 would be nicer because of the live pto, power would be about the same depending on the condition of the engine. the power steering issue doesn't mean much because with the picker on there is less wieght on the front of the tractor so it steers easier. i always thought i wanted a 234 picker because of the stripper plate rolls until i got some liturature on them and found out they weigh about twice as much as a new idea picker and i doubt that they would husk as good as the new idea.
