On the F12/F14, the serial number tag is under the gas tank where the toolbox is, facing the driver. Usual way to tell the difference is the angle the steering shaft makes with the tractor. F12's were flat, F14's were angled. However, there were upgrade kits sold that turned F12's into F14's. I have seen some tractors that say F12 on the tag but look like an F14.
