Yes, a bolt does go in the end of the shaft. It has a large (and thick) washer under the head to cover the end of the input shaft and hold the yoke in place. While you're there, did you notice that all that engine power is transmitted through a small key? When I took the yoke off of my H, I was amazed the shaft wasn't splined or tapered or something better than a little 3/16" key. In spite of it's small size, I've never heard of one shearing.
