I've rebuilt the steering system on my 1945 A. My sector shaft was worn and I had it re-machined by a local shop. The gear was ok, but it too could have been re-machined. The steering arm was destroyed while disassembling the gearbox. Re-machining it was not possible. By the way, the shaft and the arm are tapered on this model. The internal bearings and seals are available. The Case I/H dealer was unable to order the arm it is no longer available. I could not find an after market source. I began to search the Internet and finally found one for $45 plus postage. But I looked a long time and at many sources. I emailed every part tractor site I could find, some answered, some didn't bother.
