Yep - I actually did that with the tank on my M, and it worked beautifully. A lot of work to get it clean, but when I was done, it was shinier than new -- then I dried and sealed it with sealer, and it has been running like a champ for the last 2 years... You can seal the tank with soome amount of gunk in it, BUT the more there is, the more likely you are to have problems later - you'll have to make a judgement there. Since you have new paint on the outside, you will need to be real careful taking it off -- there is no way to seal the tank without turning the tank over to get 100% coverage, and that is hard on the new paint while it is still on the tractor ;) Good luck, Don(PA)
