Well, I have used both many times, so here is the major differences: The 400 is cheaper!!! Well, the M-TA was only built one year and is kinda a Rural Legend so it is obviously going to sell for more money. The 400 has better hydraulics- The pump is the same but the valving is more advanced than the M-TA and the lines are metal Most 400's have a 2pt hitch- Some were sold with a standard drawbar but most have the 2pt, however this is a bolt up to an M-TA since they share the same tranny casting. The 400 has a more advanced sheet metal styling Other minor changes on the 400, The different throttle set up, bent shifter, and most important a dash with a key and push-button starting system, unlike the M-TA with the wire pull jobs...
