The main difference, as I have always understood it, is the sheet metal. Otherwise,they are pretty much the same thing - same motor, same tranny, etc. And as some others have pointed out, there were a few other small differences too. But I guess I'd go with the 400, cheaper price, maybe an extra horsepower or two.
