NO!!! Pull the pan and the valve cover.....If you have a lot of build up on the head plug the oil return holes with small rags,so there is no chance if small pieces if dirt falling into the engine and pluging oil passage ways....What ever you do .....do not use" DET." oil in this engine!!!! It will clean out places you don't want clean and lead to fouling out the plugs....Been there and done that111....You can get non detg. oil at TRACTOR SUPPLY......
