Our TD6 buldozer has a reverse fan on it, keeps dust off operator as well as the engine. I do know of one car that had a reverse fan and it was a horrible mess cooling it and it failed miserably. It was the "copper cooled" chevys built back around 1923. Cast iron block cast without water jacket and had copper fins brazed to the cylinders.it cooled "ok" at idle, but at speed got super hot quick! I heard they would get so hot you couldn't shut them down! they kept running with ignition off.
