I had a Red Dot unit on the roof of a tractor that I used to own and it worked fine. The upside is that the evaporator and condensor plus other components are all in the roof top unit which would make installation of the AC system easier. Downside is that the unit is up in the air asking to be caught on a tree branch or whatever as the previous post suggests.
