That seems to be the nature of the beast. I baled 2600 bales this week with a borrowed 574 gas. I was constantly shifting and riding the clutch to keep it from choking on the uneven windrows. My MF 175 diesel, which has a blown head gasket right now, will bale the same ground in third gear low range, just shifting down the multipower when neccesary. Another thing about the 574 with the loader is that it has to be the hottest tractor I have ever ridden on. The saddle tank behind the seat blocks any air circulation and you are down inside tha loader frame, and the muffler is right under your left foot as well. Real nice for plowing snow at 15 degrees, but baling hay is another story.
