Desecration of H parts?

I have a set of rear axel mounted cultivator brackets off my H (no cultivator). I'm thinking about spinning them around, and with a little modification, making a three point hitch. I think I can do this and still keep my draw bar.
* Will I be ruining valueable brackets?
* Are these hard to come by, to the point that someone can't finish a restoration because I hacked apart the last known set of brackets?
