I have a Chevy 1 ton and a 25' gooseneck with a pop up dove tail, tandem axel, electric brakes. This rig works good but will still get squirly if you don't get the weight of you load distributed correctly.

More tong weight is best. Most M's, H's and C's are set with the wheels to far out to get them between the wheel wells of a drop bed trailer and that keeps you from getting the weight in the right place on the trailer. The trailer is strong enough to handle the weight but you can't get it on the trailer right.
