I think the reason you don't hear much about them is because there aren't too many around. Ken's book gives production numbers, seems like there were only a couple thousand of each, about 400 3488's, and just a handful of 7288 and 7488 2+2's. I've never operated one, but I bet that partial power-shift on the 5x88's and 2+2's is nice to have. The 3088 is about the same as a 786, we have one of those, and it's probably the best tractor I've ever operated. The 3688 is about the same as a 986, and those two can still bring some really good money.
