All O, I, and W tractor were either; McCormick, McCormick Deering, or International. Farmalls were row crop type tractors made taller for crop clearance. O's, I's, and W's were wheel type tractors also called standard type or wheatland type in some areas of the country. The W's were for farm use (W stands for wheel), the I's for industrial use (the I stands for industrial), and the O's for orchard use (the O stands for orchard),although actual use may vary. All three were of the same general design but with differences. The "I" tractors generall, had a foot accelerator and transmission clutch brake to aid shifting on the go. A pintle hitch was standard. The "O" and "O Special" had lower seating to aid going under tree limbs. The O was fully shielded with streamline finders and steel windshield. The "W" often had hand clutch. There was a "WR9" designed for use in rice fields. Axles and wheels differed in both standard and options between the O-I-W as well as some gear ratio differences. Those are the main differences I think of right off the bat. Harold H
