Water jacket on FARMALL A??? Maybe cause of manifold problem???

I have posted a few ? about the poblem getting a new manifild to fit my 1940 A block 7-16-J=1040 that has a 1951 head. PN 9052D TAG 5-23W=1951.

After going round' and round' with parts, I have a water jacket bolted and welded to the block on the manifold side of the engine. Does anyone else have one???

Red Dave- the new manifold is from RILEY Tractor parts.

Just strange how my OLD mainfold is built out by maybe 3/8" more than the new one. Did someone get lucky in fiding one to fit??

Can't ask dad, he died in 1993 :(
