It's probably the rubber lines going to the calipers. On our old Chevy, one of them swelled up on the inside, and when you hit the brake, it would pull suddenly to one side then straighten up. Turns out one line had swelled almost shut on the inside, and then pressure would slowly build up. Pull one off at the caliper, pump the pedal, and see if you have any volume coming through, you might see just a slow drip.
