The Nebraska University I believe started doing an in depth Horse Power rating test many, many years ago to keep manufacturers up to check so to speak on there equipment. International Farmall tractor sizes use to be numbers in the pre 1930's era. Like 10-20, or 22-36 and so on. The first number was the factory's drawbar horsepower rating and the second number was the factory's belt pulley horse power rating. When farmall came out with the F series tractors they dropped the first number and the tractor sizes were F-12, F-20, and F-30 and so on. And when they came out with the letter series ( the H's and M's and so on ) the numbers where competely dropped from the tractor sizes. And when they reissued numbers for tractor sizes in the 50's the numbers I believe where irrelavent to horsepower figures. Your F-20 is just a new version of the older regular 10-20. Therefore factory rating was 10 on drawbar and 20 on belt. Nebraska tests may have came up with a little different number but I would guess that the number might be a little more. I think they made it against the law for the factory's to release an over rated horse power tractor. The Nebraska tests I believe were done on new tractors and so wear and altercations would have to be taken into consideration when comparing the tests to your present tractor with the condition it is in today.
