C Farmall axles

Just picked up a "C" parts tractor, sn32906, single wheel front. The Rt axle pn351111-Rt is the same length as the Lt and Rt on my kind of restored "C", sn44139. The housing and axle on the Lt side of the parts tractor is about four inches longer. The longer assembly has a pn of 351497-R(--)?. I don't have a part number book to identify the longer unit. My maintenance manual doesn't say anything about longer axles. I'm sure someone can explain the reason for the longer axle.
