At least two and probably more manufacturers made after market 9 speeds or overdrives ( M& W and Heisler come to mind). One of my M's has a Heisler. When engaged it makes 1,2,3& 4 gears faster than orginal 4th. It also speeds up the PTO, probably doubles the RPM there. Not sure about the belt pulley? The 9 speed was bought by farmers to speed up some field jobs: harrowing, rotoryhoe, hauling wagons. It is very handy when downshifting from road gear when pulling up a hill to have a speed just below 5th. The installation bequired adding gears and shafts to the transmission. Used 9 speeds are occasionally advertised inthe classifeds. Dick
