Stan, your method is about the only one that doesn't involve testing equipment or the kind of jolt that'll make you swear, and ought to work if you have spark. A couple of thoughts. Have you had the mag off the engine? If so is it possible your 180 out of time? How far around did you crank it (like did you go four clicks to make sure the mag fired at least once to the plug you grounded)? You might try timing the mag mechanically, to the click, and then retry your test. Not even $.02 worth, really, but it might hrlp. Good luck! Scotty
