Hi everyone, I am nearly finished with a complete out of the tractor overhaul on the engine of our 756 diesel (german) tractor. This is aprox a 1968 model and it has the older canister type in line thermostat. we have determined that this is stuck open. Thinking back now to when we ran this tractor it never did seem to get up to any good temperature on the gauge except while plowing with 5-16's. I am wondering if anyone else has had one of these fail and knows where I can get one. According to my repair manual it is stamped 75 in two places and that converts to 167 degrees F. I called an IH dealer in Wisconsin but with no luck in locating one. Later models of the same tractor line had the thermostat mounted in the more traditional manner in the discharge casting of the pump with a cap much more like a car. Here is the IH part number if any of you have access to old parts please let me know. 3 055 998 R91 a complete replacement body assembly is listed as 3 055 190 r11 thanks, Andy

It was an Allis-Chalmers tractor dealership,
