M Farmall water pump

The water pump on my M is leaking. I tried tightening the packing nut but it still leaks. I bought new packing for it but I can't get the driver pin out to get the driver off to remove the packing nut. I would rather not remove the water pump but if I have to, I might as well rebuild the pump while I have it off. How hard is it to rebuild? Any suggestions on how to get the driver pin out? Thanks.
