As far as originality goes if you replace parts with like manufactured components from the same time period and style it will maintain originality. As to converting the cub back to 6 volt you'll ned a generator, regulator, and possibly some new wiring components. Most tractors were converted to 8 or 12 volts to make cold starting easier. 6 volt systems work fine as long as you use heavy gauge battery cables and have good connections.
