It is true that if you use all original manufactured (time period) parts it will remain original. This would not include after market or remanufactured parts. Such as replacing that cracked up steering wheel with a simular remanufactured one. I never heard of overheating problems with 6 volt systems. 6 volt battery's have the fluid caps over 3 holes and 12 volt battery's have fluid caps over 6 holes. Most problems with the 6 volt system was they would get bad connections and wouldn't charge correctly and end up with a weak battery. That and those earlier farmalls had a pos. ground. Some people would get all mixed up and end up frying something on the system and then it would be really not right. I preferr the 6v system myself but I know and understand the system where as some people don't. I would say a complete original tractor is and will be worth more than one that is not. Just my 2 cents worth.
