Call the man you bought the tractor from,ask him what he used in the tractor....I bought a 400 a few years back....changed it from non-detergent to detergent oil it soon started to foul the spark plugs.....I was told by a local tractor dealer that the detergent oil had cleaned out the rings and now is alowing oil to pass.....I got a lot of flack from some of the guys on this site,but it happened to me ......The tune up video I bought off of this web sight on how to tune up a FARMALL M says ,"use non-det."oil....
