Paul you got power going to the light switch from 2 different directions!!!!!!!!!! 1. REMOVE the wire from the left post of the ampmeter to the light switch bolt that has a #2 stamped to the right of it. That post on the light switch is where you wire the rear light. I.E. move the rear light wire you show in your picture 1 bolt to the right. That will give you rear lights when the switch is both in the dim and bright position. 2. Take the large wire from the alternator and wire it to the right post of the ampmeter, not the light switch. Then wire from the right post of the ampmeter up to the lower right screw on the light switch. A stamped #1 is next to that bolt. 3. You have the headlights wired correctly to upper bolt. There is a stamped 3# just right of that bolt.
