F-30 narrow tread and a good joke

Took a road trip yesterday to pick op an F-30 sight unseen. Turned out to be a narrow tread. Are these rare? While there the man asked me if I could get another tractor running for him. It was his dads tractor, a John Deere. We got a valve unstuck, had to take the head off, spent most of the afternoon. had it popping but the air cleaner was full of water so decided to go load the Farmall and come back. On the way out we met his neighbor who told us that he had bought the tractor. Didn't even thank us for getting it running! We got a good laugh anyway. Not every day you get to work on a tractor just for fun. :)
