Farmall A oil pressure

Finally got to use my Farmall A after the 12-volt conversion and a few other maintenance items. Brush-hogged around 2-acres in hot weather. The tractor did fine except in the heavy stuff, when the engine bogged down considerably. A mechanic I know gave me some tune up tips to try, and that will come soon. When the engine got good and hot the oil pressure gauge went all the way to zero. The gauge is attached to the oil filter housing, and I think it is original...but not sure. Concerned about the very low oil pressure. A couple of questions come to mind. First, is it normal for the pressure to drop off like I am seeing? Second, if not normal, what advice could you give on troubleshooting the problem? Thanks for replies.
