I agree with Don and Ron, you might but highly unlikely but possible you are dealing with a fuel flow problem if that is rruled out,I would keep it simple I am not to familer with the 12v sys/coil and ballist.I would replace cap and wires and then look further if not solved and condensor definetly comes to mind.Now stop with the fire thing and just give her alittle tender loving care and she will last ya another 50 yrs
