Ryan, If you are using the ceramic resister you are already reducing the voltage going to the coil sans Distributor sans condensor. The 6V condensor should be fine. Have you checked to make sure nothing is shorting out inside the distributor? Maybe it is your condensor but, if after replacing it, try using a troubleshooting light and trace downline from the source (Alternator/Generator) to where you loose the voltage.//FB
