Condensor values are in microfarads, NOT volts. The volt parameter of a condensor would be it's breakdown voltage, which would be WELL in excess of either 6 or 12 volts. Therefore, a condensor designed for a 12 volt sytem would work for a 6 volt system, however there may be a difference in mfd. values between manufacturers. You should be able to find a small 12 volt capacitor as a replacement for a 560 or 660 or 706 gasoline tractor, or something of that vintage.
