Hugh we have two of these tractors with the wide fronts as you probably know and did that to both of them. That seems to be a weak part, the original that is, because the front end on the other tractor was mint except for that part. It had been broken, welded and bent as well. I was afraid the part I made might make the tractors harder to steer but does not seem to have made any difference in that respect. The shorter turning radius is a lot nicer. The other SC actually gets used some, mainly on a balanced head sickle mower and it handles really nice for that even with the wide front.
