Making progress folks. I got all the electrical hooked up yesterday. It will be a 12 volt settup with the regulator on top of the generator. I cleaned all the connections from the coil switch to the distributor. When I pulled the coil switch, the ampmeter promptly showed a -2 amp discharge. The starter switch is shot. I pulled the sparkplugs and jumped the starter and did two 30 second spins this morning. Everything sounded good. Corey noticed that I got a hefty oil leak from the oil filter base. I will have to dig out the old rubber and stick in an almost new one. If that doesn't do the trick, I got the monster size filter I can mount. It came off Old Smokey M last year. Got the carburetor off and split to inspect. It was pretty clean. It looks like the idle jet is plugged. I will try to find a tiny drill bit and clean it out. That idle jet tube would not unscrew and I didn't want to break it. I also blew out the gas line. Something came flying out of it besides old gas! I drained about 4 gallons of 6 year old gas yesterday. The strainer was draining very slowly. I pulled it this morning. A chunk of rubber intertube was stuck in the inlet pipe. I fished out 2 more chunks and 1 pebble in the gas tank. I think it is pretty clean and ready for fresh gasoline. I soaked the m governor for 20 hours in gas. It is in an absolute mess. Water and dirt seeped in the governor through the years and really rusted things up. My plan is to take the neck and tube assemblies off the M governor and stick them on Old Rusty H governor. It is in good shape. That sounds easy but will take a good half day. Once I get the governor mess straightend out, I will beable to assemble and try to start it.

Sadly though all his efforts seemed to be a waste of time and money as he still couldn''t get the temperamental old thing to run correctly!! If i said that this was a little frustrating for him that would be "conservative" in fact the problem had reduce
