I don't think so as the bull pinoin is turning into the brake and if the diff. had gone out i do not think that you would get anything , it has to be the bull gear came off the axel or the axel snaped but there has been stranger things happen in rear ends . I would pull the pto and take a look before ya get to serious about rippen and taren into it i am getting lazy in my old age and don't like just taken things apart just to see what make them tick.
