Yeah them Farkall's can be fussy! I would think like you that a blown head gasket would also be smoking while running but you never know. If the headbolts were a little loose and then tightened up from the heat of the engine running it might seal up an otherwise slow leak of coolant down a cylinder wall. Have you done any top end work?
